UI Volleyball Planning Foreign Travel in 2014
Hawkeye Volleyball is looking to grow the student athlete experience by adding a foreign trip to the schedule, following the 2013 season.
UI Volleyball, with the assistance of the UI Foundation is committed to raising the funds necessary for international travel because we believe the trip will substantially enhance the student experience. Additionally, providing this opportunity to our volleyball student athletes would bring us in line with our counterparts in the Big Ten, all of whom travel internationally with their volleyball teams.
UI Volleyball will be allowed 10 extra practice dates in preparation for the trip – a very valuable opportunity in and of itself.
Traveling abroad and competing with one’s teammates in a different culture can be one of the most meaningful experiences in the life of a student-athlete.
Our goal is for the volleyball team and travel party to visit and compete in Prague, Vienna and Rome.
If you wish to help the Hawkeyes make their foreign travel experience a reality and to put them on a level playing field in the recruiting race with the rest of the Big Ten, please click here to make a contribution to the volleyball development fund. Designate your gift to THE HAWKEYE FUND, and then indicate in the comments section that the gift is for UI VOLLEYBALL FOREIGN TRAVEL. You will be mailed a receipt which confirms your gift to the Volleyball Development Fund, supporting the foreign travel trip.
If you have any additional questions about this initiative, please contact Sloane R. Tyler at the UI Foundation – firstname.lastname@example.org or 319-335-3305.
