Nile Kinnick I-Club Hosts Banquet in Omaha

Omaha, NE

June began with another stop of the I-Club spring banquet tour.  Iowa coaches and administrators traveled to Omaha, NE on day one of the month to celebrate past success, and look to the future of athletics at the University of Iowa.

Coaches Ferentz, Bluder, Kirk Speraw of men’s basketball and Luke Eustice from the wrestling staff spoke to the huge crowd of 650 at this unique I-Club event, which is more reception style than the traditional sit down dinner that dominates the format of the I-Club circuit.

Iowa football’s James Vandenberg began a summer-long internship in the University of Iowa Foundation recently and made his first appearances in that role this week.  He will be an ambassador at many events across the state not only for the Iowa football program but also the UIF and the athletic department.  Vandenberg, a Keokuk native, is expected to assume the starting quarterback duties from recent graduate and all Big Ten performer Ricky Stanzi.

The Nile Kinnick I-Club has been a leader in soliciting new members at their I-Club events.  Again this year they were elite performers in this area, collecting 30 new I-Club members at the event with many more prospects considering a gift to be made later this spring.
