Hawkeyes Visit Fans in Wisconsin
The National I-Club made a stop in Wauwatosa, WI, deep in the heart of Badger country on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at Café Hollander to spend time with 85 enthusiastic Hawk Fans. Former Hawkeye and NBA player Ryan Bowen, now a member of the Iowa basketball staff, along with football’s Lester Erb had the unique opportunity to visit with most of the event’s guests personally. Our coaches enjoy this kind of opportunity, as most of our events host hundreds of guests. The one on one photos, visits and conversations were a highlight.
Athletic Director Gary Barta spent the day in Wisconsin visiting with special friends of the athletics program with Executive Director of Development Matt Henderson, then the two joined the event at the Café Hollander. Both spoke from the podium about the success of Hawkeye athletics in all facets, athletics capital projects taking place on campus, the excitement and buzz surrounding the Iowa vs. Nebraska football game, and Gary Barta also took questions from the audience.
Also in attendance where four former student-athletes now living and working in Wisconsin. Hawk fans as well as athletic coaches and staff enjoyed the opportunity to meet these alumni and find out what they are doing in the Milwaukee area.
